Rocanini Coffee Roasters

Rocanini Coffee Roasters has been our client since they first opened their doors in Stevenson Village with a roastery located in Mount Pleasant. Through the years, as Rocanini expands with the opening of more locations (Yaletown and Kerrisdale), it became clear to them that their expansion needed to be celebrated with a new brand and packaging concept refresh. Knowing their passion and love for coffee making, we wanted to pay respect to their mission of sourcing beans that sustain the hard work of local farmers around the world—to pursuing the perfect roast and bringing that daily dose of happiness into your hands. The new artwork needed to express community, harmony, and the art of coffee. With this in mind, we created a communal gathering of birds (falcons) that represented the symbolism, traits, and archetype embodied by the Rocanini brand, while also connecting the illustration to the brand’s wing symbol found in their logo. We also modernized the identity in order for it to lend itself to be more applicable with a more diverse range of design styles and spaces, should the company evolve into new locations in the future.
